WHAT WE DO

Excelsior brings clinical assessment, hands-on soft-tissue work, and progressive strength and mobility training into the same practice.

We work specifically with the person in front of us—considering your history, goals, current capacity, and the systems involved. We don’t use a one-size-fits-all protocol. Education is part of the work, so you leave with a better understanding of your body and how to keep progressing.

WHO WE ARE

The Excelsior community is made up of clients, colleagues, professionals, old friends, and new acquaintances. We are health-seekers, parents, athletes, retirees, caregivers, rehabilitators, coaches, and students. We are warm, welcoming, and seek to inspire each other to get better every day.

Excelsior’s practitioners are soft-tissue therapists and strength coaches whose own experiences with injury and illness led us to seek long-term solutions beyond traditional health and fitness models. We specialize in Functional Range Assessment, Release, and Conditioning, and the Internal Strength and Absolute Strength Models. Our work seeks to address the effects and functional consequences of pain, injury, immobility, and movement or structural compensation.

WHO WE HELP

People come to Excelsior for many reasons: persistent pain, limited mobility, rebuilding strength, returning to training, navigating recovery, staying capable as they age, or getting more from their sport.

We’ve worked with people ages 8 to 85, across a wide range of abilities, goals, and life circumstances.

REFERRALS & INSURANCE

Do we handle physician referrals?

We work with clients who have been referred by local clinicians when the requested services are appropriate to our professional scope. We also have an established relationship with a local physician and other practitioners who refer clients directly to our practice by recommendation.

Do we fulfill physical therapy referrals?

No. We do not provide physical therapy services or fulfill referrals specifically written for physical therapy. You’ll need to see a licensed physical therapist for that referral. That does not mean you can’t work with us. Many clients come before, during, or after physical therapy to continue developing strength, mobility, movement, tissue health, and physical capacity. Others work with us independently.

Do we bill insurance?

We do not bill insurance directly. Some clients use an HSA or FSA to pay for eligible services, and some submit receipts to their insurance provider for possible reimbursement. We have seen insurance companies cover service fees or percentages of them. Coverage depends on your individual plan and provider requirements.

When requested, we can provide a receipt or service record documenting the date of service, session time, amount paid, and services provided within our professional scope. We do not represent our services as physical therapy or document them as physical therapy services.
