Love the Barbell?
Our client LOVES the barbell! It's a form of "therapy" for her.
Do you love the barbell, too? Named exercises, like these--
Deadlift, Clean, Back Squat, etc.
-- are movement PATTERNS. The patterns are produced by the joints:
HIPS rotate, flex, extend, and ab/adduct.
VERTEBRAE flex, extend, and rotate.
KNEES flex, extend, and rotate.
ANKLES dorsiflex, plantarflex, invert, and evert.
Patterns use the joint capacity you currently have.

The joints themselves must be trained.
They must be trained for all their constituent ranges, and especially the ranges required for patterns that are important to you. If squatting with a barbell is important to you, your hips, vertebrae, knees, and ankles need:
requisite WORKSPACE,
better SOFT-TISSUE ARCHITECTURE
more LOAD-BEARING CAPACITY
If you're missing these, you will compensate. Your pattern will wear out-- causing pain, plateau, or injury.
𝐓𝐫𝐚𝐢𝐧 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐣𝐨𝐢𝐧𝐭𝐬 𝐅𝐈𝐑𝐒𝐓, then train your patterns.
We help you do exactly that in Kinstretch, clinic, and coaching.
